The iOS 5 is the latest offering from Apple and this next generation iOS update comes packed with over 200 new features. The new iOS 5 won't be a revolution but is provides significant improvement from the perspective of user experience. People with jailbroken devices may have already used such features but nevertheless iOS 5 promises to bring better ease of communication and a whole new user experience for the consumers. iOS 5 will be released this fall which also hints the fact that the new iPhone is just round the corner and we can expect it to ship with the new OS as well. Anyway out of the several features I found some features that stood above the rest and they are as follows.
1. Notifications center - Previously notifications were a big problem. Every time you had a new email or message your current application would pause and you would have seen a blue notification message. But in iOS 5 notifications show up on top of every App without interrupting the program. With the drag of your finger from top to bottom you can access the notifications center anywhere in your phone. The notifications center shows current weather, stocks followed by your notifications and is designed in a very clean and simple way. Moreover, the notifications are now displayed even in your lock screen and user can swipe your fingers just as you would unlock to see certain notifications and messages even with you phone present in the locked mode.

2. iMessage - With the new iMessage Apple is all geared up to fight the mighty Blackberry Messenger and also famous Apps like WhatsApp. The new iMessage allows every iOS device to share text, images and videos over Wi-Fi or 3G. iPad, iPod Touch, iPhones can now stay connected easily with this new upgrade. You can even start group chats and the interface as we all know is one of the best around. Only time will suggest how the iMessage becomes popular and are utilized by iOS users worldwide.
3. PC free - Finally after years of launching Apple products this revolution took place. With iOS 5 you can now be completely PC free. " Cut the Cord if you like" said Apple at WWDC 2011. Because the iOS 5 allows auto configuration, updates via 3G or Wi-Fi. Later iCloud will also be integrated with iOS 5 so that your files in your MAC or Windows can automatically be shared to your iOS devices. You can now download and update Applications from the device itself without the hassle of connecting and managing the device software though iTunes. Songs and podcasts can also be downloaded via the online iTunes Store to you device.

Game Center - The Game Center was recently introduced to iOS devices and over 50 million users already use it compared to 30 million X-Box Live users over the past 6 year. iOS 5 brings some significant improvement in the game center. You can now view your achievements and share it with others, see some game recommendations, set up a turn based games with other friends and also add your own profile picture. Game Center also alerts you with new games that you may like. Gaming is iOS 5 will definitely be more social like never before.
